Supporting organisations in Eastern Europe
Keeping Children Safe (KCS) is actively supporting OAK Foundation grantee organisations in Eastern Europe, both online and offline. As part of this project KCS has been working with the East Europe Foundation (EEF) in Moldova, helping them to embedding the KCS International Child Safeguarding Standards, and enabling them to foster a strong culture of child safeguarding.
The mission of the East Europe Foundation – a non-profit, non-political, public interest organisation – is to empower Moldovan citizens, foster sustainable development through education and technical assistance programs that promote democracy, foster good governance, and build economic prosperity.
EEF considers all forms of abuse towards children to be unacceptable and recognises that it has a duty to keep children safe, promote their well-being, and to protect them from abuse and harm.
‘Cooperating with Keeping Children Safe enabled EEF to have a proactive attitude to prevent situations of abuse and harm occurring, and reactive actions to respond to situations where a child is, or may be, suffering abuse. Moreover, based on KCS approach EEF will make considerable efforts to ensure that all the organisations we work with feel confident about implementing the best practises on child safeguarding procedures.
Thanks to Oak Foundation’s support, and Keeping Children Safe’s practical guidance and tools that enable us to implement their international child safeguarding standards, EEF will continue to address and try to provide responses to child safeguarding priorities. We will be more focused on building the capacity of organisations and partners we work with to protect and safeguard the children.’

We are here to help organisations make sure that the children they or their partner organisations work with are safe from abuse. The first step to making sure no child in your care is coming to harm, is to use our free self-assessment tool, to find out how well your organisation is implementing child protection policies. Now is the time to act.
