A big welcome to the <a href=\"http:\/\/cscasbl.e-monsite.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Community Support Center (CSC) Asbl<\/a>, who are joining the Keeping Children Safe members\u2019 network. We are really looking forward to working with them on their child safeguarding measures.<\/p>\n\n<p>CSC-Asbl provides support, supervision and psycho-social support to children and young women who are survivors and victims of wars, and ethnic conflicts in the Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). In particular the organisation focuses on children recruited to join armed groups, who are often abused, and street children living in extremely precarious conditions.<\/p>\n\n<p>As always, we like to post a news story about new members, and promote the organisation amongst the KCS network and online following.<\/p>\n\n<p>By <strong>Byolenganya Olo Bernoulli, CSC-Asbl\u2019s CEO and Founder<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n<p><strong>What made you decide to join the KCS members\u2019network?\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p>We wanted passionately to join KCS as a member, in order to benefit from capacity building in child safeguarding, and participate in the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.keepingchildrensafe.global\/victims-and-survivors\/\">Keeping Victims and Survivors Safe Programme<\/a><\/strong> because:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>We work in areas of war and ethnic conflicts<\/li><li>Whatever the mineral wealth located in the eastern region of the country, the cost of living of the population is very miserable<\/li><li>All these increase day by day the rate of survivors and victims in the region.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n<p><strong>What is your key driver to implement child safeguarding?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p>Nous avons \u00e9taient t\u00e9moins de plusieurs massacres, des violences faites aux enfants, aux femmes et \u00e0 l\u2019humanit\u00e9 dans son ensemble : \u00ab les enfants associ\u00e9s dans des groupes arm\u00e9s, les conflits inter-ethniques \u00bb occasionnant l\u2019accroissement des enfants vuln\u00e9rable dans toute la r\u00e9gion Est de la R\u00e9publique D\u00e9mocratique du Congo. Risk assessment of children in conflict situations<\/li><li>Step 2. Gap analysis<\/li><li>Step 3. Establishment of a risk notification and treatment system<\/li><li>Step 4. political commitment<\/li><li>Step 5. Development and deployment of an implementation plan<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>We will consider implementing a strategy of providing psycho-social assistance to child survivors and victims of wars and conflicts.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n<p><strong>What message do you want to tell your staff, donors and the wider world?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p>In the east of the Democratic Republic of Congo is a place where wars and ethnic conflicts have been going on since 1994, and the Ebola virus has infected many families, causing the exponential growth of the vulnerable victims, most of who are children and women.
