Training and support

Accompanying organisations with tailored training, support and independent advice to recognise the risks of child abuse, close safeguarding gaps and put children first.

Our child safeguarding advisers have worked in every region of the world, supporting all types and sizes of organisations: governments, civil society, sport, education, faith and the private sector.

We accompany organisations as they put child safeguarding at the heart of everything they do. Supporting organisations at every stage of the process: from drafting a child safeguarding policy, developing online and face-to-face training to implementing accountability systems, processes and evaluating their impact.

All of our work is firmly anchored in our International Child Safeguarding Standards.

Context-specific child safeguarding

We adapt the way that we work to suit different organisational needs, contexts and consistently seek new and innovative ways to strengthen our approach.

  • We offer a targeted consultation on the challenges facing your organisation, saving you time and resources to work out effective solutions
  • We match you with the right safeguarding adviser to help you solve your problem. Every adviser on our team is an authority in their field and brings exceptional depth and breadth of knowledge and experience
  • We offer follow-up support through mentoring and coaching, utilising experts from KCS’s global membership.

Tailored workshops

A three-day workshop that will give you the knowledge and skills to develop or strengthen your child safeguarding policy and procedures.

This workshop is especially useful for anyone entrusted to develop or strengthen a child safeguarding policy, for example, trustee, director, or child safeguarding focal person.

Introduction to child safeguarding

A three-day workshop that will give you the basic knowledge and skills to implement child safeguarding measures in your organisation.

This workshop is useful for trustees, directors, managers and designated child safeguarding focal persons of any organisation that works with or comes into contact with children.

Managing allegations

A five-day workshop that will strengthen your ability to provide an appropriate response to child safeguarding concerns and allegations within your organisation.

The course provides opportunities for senior leadership to practice planning and managing all aspects of investigating a serious child safeguarding concern.
