Training workshops

Our tailor-made approach to supporting your organisation’s child safeguarding needs includes designing and delivering in-house workshops for your trustees, senior management, staff and partners.

The workshops can be from one day to five days, depending on your organisation’s needs. If you just need advice or guidance at this stage, our experts are available to answer your questions. If you need longer-term, individualised support, we will assign you a mentor or coach.

Please note: Our workshops are usually arranged at a location convenient to your team/s needs. However, due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic we have adapted these to be online-only. Once travel restrictions are lifted we will be able to offer you a mix of both physical and/or online workshops.

Below are some key learning workshops that our experts deliver, often in your organisation’s own language:

Developing your child safeguarding policy

A three-day workshop will give you the knowledge and skills to develop or strengthen your child safeguarding policy and procedures.

This workshop is especially useful for anyone entrusted to develop or strengthen a child safeguarding policy, for example, trustee, director, or child safeguarding focal person.

Introduction to child safeguarding

A three-day workshop will give you the basic knowledge and skills to implement child safeguarding measures in your organisation.

This workshop is useful for trustees, directors, managers and designated child safeguarding focal persons of any organisation that works with or comes into contact with children.

Managing allegations

A five-day workshop will strengthen your ability to provide an appropriate response to child safeguarding concerns and allegations within your organisation.

The course provides opportunities for senior leadership to practice planning and managing all aspects of investigating a serious child safeguarding concern. Participants will go through a mock response to an allegation that requires an investigation, which will allow them to apply their newly-learned skills. This workshop is restricted to organisations’ senior managers.

Keeping children safe online

This one-day workshop focuses on the risks and issues that young people face online and offers a practical solution through a tried and tested risk mitigation model.

This workshop is aimed at organisations working with children and young people in developing countries, where there is an increasing use of social media and a need for organisations working with children to protect them in the online world. It is especially useful for: Child Safeguarding Leads in international organisations, Social Media Managers, Communications Managers and Programme Managers.

Focal points

A three-day workshop is specifically for designated Child Safeguarding Focal Points within organisations.

The workshop will give participants the knowledge and skills required of Child Safeguarding Focal Points to be able to support their organisations in implementing their child safeguarding policy and procedures.
