We are pleased to welcome Es Hoy and Ruralia to our global Members Network.
Es Hoy is a movement of business leaders working to address Peru’s most pressing challenges by mobilising resources to support civil society and government initiatives. Within Es Hoy, Ruralia is an initiative that works towards a country where rural populations can equally access education and opportunities.
For Ruralia, joining our Members Network is an opportunity to continuously strengthen its institutional standards and help ensure safe environments across its work. Through specialised technical support, the organisation aims to review and strengthen its safeguarding policies and incorporate international good practices to better prevent risks and respond appropriately when needed.
Over the next year, the organisation aims to reinforce their safeguarding policies, protocols and response mechanisms. Ruralia aspires to help make safeguarding an expected standard for organisations working with children, young people and other populations in vulnerable situations, rather than an exceptional practice.
As a message to the community, their Leader , Mariana La Riva Quispe, expressed: ‘We believe that all organisations working with vulnerable groups can and must strengthen their safeguarding mechanisms. At Ruralia we want to help raise the profile of this discussion and ensure that child safeguarding becomes part of the social ecosystem’s quality standards.’
