Members Spotlight: KCS network grows in Brazil

In this month’s Members Spotlight, we are happy to shine a light on our growing network in Brazil.

This time we want to introduce Pavement Project (Projeto Calçada), a team dedicated to responding to the traumas experienced by at-risk children and teenagers around the world.

Pavement Project’s Global Director Clenir Santos highlights the importance of Child Safeguarding in their work: ‘Child protection is not optional but fundamental. Our goal is to ensure that every child we serve, in Brazil and beyond, is truly safe and protected‘. And following that conviction, the organisation saw being part of KCS as a natural and necessary step as they sought to align their work with the International Child Safeguarding Standards.

Pavement Project has a clear vision of building a world where every child can grow, heal, and flourish, and their team has seen first-hand the transformative power of care and safety. To be able to ensure the children they support are truly safe and protected, they are committed to training all staff and volunteers in updated safeguarding practices, with clear protocols across every area of their work.

Child Safeguarding takes a central place in their work: ‘For us, child safeguarding is not just a policy. It is an act of justice, love and hope. It’s about creating spaces where children are truly seen, heard, and free to thrive’, the Global Director explains.

We look forward to seeing Pavement Project grow, expanding their support for children and we hope the KCS network continues to welcome outstanding Brazil-based organisations.
