Developing child safeguarding

The Developing Child Safeguarding Policy and Procedures (pdf) guide can be used to ensure that your organisation’s child safeguarding measures are robust. It will help you facilitate workshops with staff, support them in conducting risk assessments, and to develop strategies that reduce risk. It will also help with auditing current child safeguarding measures, as well as developing and strengthening child safeguarding policies and procedures. If you would like further guidance on how to facilitate, please refer to the section on Good practice guidance on design and delivery of a child safeguarding learning event on page 53.

Please note: If you are working with people who need a more basic introduction to child abuse and child safeguarding, you should use exercises from a separate guide: Understanding Child Safeguarding (pdf) provides guidance for facilitating workshops on understanding child abuse, as well as how to recognise and respond to child safeguarding concerns.
