The New Life Mwangaza Rehabilitation Centre (NLMRC) has joined KCS Members Network to strengthen their commitment to protect at-risk, street-connected boys and ensuring their safety, dignity and wellbeing.

NLMRC’s director expressed that becoming a member is an important opportunity to enhance the organisation’s safeguarding systems, in line with global best practices and KCS’s International Child Safeguarding Standards. As a team that is focused on rescue, rehabilitation, reintegration and prevention of harm for vulnerable children, they see this partnership as a natural step toward strengthening their internal policies, capacity and accountability.

They emphasised that ‘safeguarding is not only the right thing to do but also a necessary foundation for effective rehabilitation, reintegration and empowerment.’

Looking ahead, NLMRC aims to complete a comprehensive safeguarding risk assessment, strengthen their safeguarding policies, enhance staff capacity through continuous training and establish robust reporting, monitoring and accountability systems.

Their message to the community is clear: ‘We want to reaffirm that NLMRC is dedicated to creating and sustaining a safe environment for every child.’

We look forward to working hand-in-hand with NLMRC and see their next steps towards ensuring every boy in their care is safe.
